But demand for steer hides remained weak, despite recent interest from the automotive sector.
USDA cured, wet blue hide export sales recap
US export hide sales decreased by 23.13% to 322,313 pieces in the week to December 5 from 419,279 pieces the week prior, while shipments decreased by 21.32% to 419,078 pieces from 532,630 pieces.
Total export sales for the 2024 marketing year were 25,066,242 pieces on December 5, almost all cured hides.
