Chinese UCO prices climb on stronger global biofuel demand

Choice white grease (CWG) traded lower out of the Carolinas market on Friday December 13, in what was the lone bit of action reported for the day.

“Holiday mode is starting to set in,” one source said in reference to the quiet market.

Market participants are starting to shift their focus toward January trade ideas and holiday logistics.

For the week through December 13, the animal fats market was largely steady to lower.

Yellow grease FOB Missouri River averaged 5.25% below the prior week’s average, falling to a weekly average price of 32.5 cents per lb.

CWG was lower as well, falling 1 cent per lb, or 2.4%, from the prior week’s average.
