US meat meal production in November down year on year: USDA

In November, US production of feathermeal (FM) increased month on month, while poultry by-product meal (PBPM) and meat meal, meat and bone meal and dry rendered tankage (MM/MBM/DRT) decreased, according to the USDA’s Fats and Oils: Oilseed Crushing, Production, Consumption and Stocks report released on Thursday December 2.

Production of MM/MBM/DRT totaled 440.7 million lbs in November, up by 1.1% month on month but down by 15.9% year on year.

The year-to-date production volume was 4.87 billion lbs in November, down by 370.60 million lbs, or 7.1%, from the corresponding period in 2023.

MM/MBM/DRT stocks amounted to 59.67 million lbs in November, higher by 4.72 million lbs month on month but down by 16.8% year on year.
