US soymeal export sales hit marketing-year low; corn, wheat above estimates

Corn
US corn sales for 2024/25 were reported at 1.024 million tonnes in the week to January 9, up noticeably from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior four-week average, landing above the USDA’s expected range of 500,000-1 million tonnes, USDA data showed on Thursday January 16.

Much of the increase came from Japan (281,300 tonnes), South Korea (281,200 tonnes), Mexico (234,400 tonnes), Colombia (172,100 tonnes) and Spain (148,400 tonnes),

These gains were partly offset by reductions for unknown destinations (409,400 tonnes), Indonesia (68,000 tonnes) and Morocco (300 tonnes).

The accumulated export commitments reached 181.1% of the USDA forecast.

Export sales for the 2025/26 crop season totaled 200 tonnes for China.

Exports hit a marketing-year high of 1.48 million tonnes, up by 72% from the previous week and by 47% from the four-week average.
