Export inspections of US grains showed a decline for soybean and wheat, while corn increased in the week to January 16, according to data from the USDA released on Tuesday January 21.
Corn export inspections reached 1.54 million tonnes, up by 7% from the previous week but up by 106% year on year.
The top export destinations were Japan (405,010 tonnes), Mexico (347,525 tonnes), South Korea (274,155 tonnes), Spain (205,594 tonnes), Colombia (132,263 tonnes), Ireland (66,049 tonnes) and El Salvador (39,364 tonnes).
Yellow corn made up the majority, with 1.5 million tonnes passing inspections, while 32,087 tonnes of white corn passed inspection.
Soybean export inspections totaled 973,145 tonnes, down by 28% from the previous week and down by 18% year on year.
