Hide sales limited; bids carried into the weekend

Hide sales were limited during week ended Friday January 31, but many bids are expected to carry into the weekend, according to a few sellers.

Anticipation surrounding the proposed tariffs by US President Donald Trump created tension, though Chinese tanners remain away for Lunar New Year holiday.

Some interest in US hides emerged, but steer hide bids were mostly low, while bids for cow and dairy steer hides were steady to slightly higher, up by $0.50 per piece from the last traded levels.
