US weekly cattle slaughter falls 1% to 593,858 head; YTD down 3%

The US hide market was relatively slow to close the week on Friday February 7. Market sources indicated that trading was flat, though there were trades reported on Colorado branded steers (CBS) and butt branded steers (BBS), with steady values observed for the rest of the market.
