LCFS 2019 Data – California

California recently released their fourth quarter 2019 LCFS Data. Fourth quarter credit production was up 7 percent from the third quarter while the number of fourth quarter deficits fell one percent relative to third quarter output.  For the year, 14.8 million credits were generated, up nearly 31 percent from 2018 production.  The number of deficits produced in 2019 was 20 percent below that of 2018 production. 

Biodiesel volume reached 211.6 million gallons in 2019, up 15 percent from 2018 volume of 184.5 million gallons.  Biodiesel production produced 1.8 million credits in 2019, which was 14 percent over 2018 production and represented 12 percent of total 2019 credits.  Biodiesel credit production declined from 14 percent of all credits produced in 2018 to 12 percent in 2019.
