HERO Act Proposed in Part to Support Biofuel

 

US House of Representatives Releases Draft of $3 Trillion Stimulus Package

The bill titled the Heath and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROS) Act will begin in the House and move to the Senate. The House has scheduled a vote for Friday, where it is expected to pass.  The Senate and the White House are currently not as interested in an additional stimulus package at this time, preferring to see wait and see how the economy reacts to recent stimulus passed as markets slowly reopens. The measure may not pass the Senate.

Within the HERO act, is a program titled the Renewable Fuel Reimbursement Program (RFRP). The RFRP would make funds available to any domestic entity/facility that produced qualified fuel during 2019. The program provides a 45 cent-per-gallon payment for qualified fuel produced by eligible entities during the period January 1, 2020 through May1, 2020.
