Issues confronted in hemp are often a result of lacking research, after years of being off-limits to all but the most tenacious researchers.  Hempseed is a great example.  Like Cuba, where automobiles and other infrastructure are frozen in time, so it is with our knowledge of hempseed, and other hemp products.  The research just isn’t there.

This is true for industrial applications, primarily fiber, the constituent that has the widest range of uses. Hempseed oil also has industrial uses, it’s a viable additive to paints and other coatings.  Livestock feed represents significant theoretical demand, so research to gain approval from the FDA is a priority for developing the hemp product complex.  The income stream that includes premium pricing for expeller pressed hempseed oil would be that much more attractive with the addition of seedcake sales for livestock, poultry,…
