USDA Cured Hide and Wet Blue Export Sales Recap

For week ending September 3, export sales for 2020 marketing year decreased 1 percent to 491,268 from 492,846 and shipments decreased 17 percent to 423,845 from 511,473. Sales for marketing year 2020 totaled 18,724,361—mostly all hides. The average year-to-date weekly trends for federally inspected slaughter were 600,721, total export sales were 520,121 and total export shipments were 504,782.

Today’s Market

The week concludes with continued upward momentum. Heavy Native Dairy Steers, Heavy Texas Steers, Branded Steers and Dairy Cows have all moved up $1 to $2. Spot availability has tightened, demand remains strong and there are reports of sellers with limited to no nearby supply offered out to the market.
