Biodiesel margins rise, but window of opportunity limited
Biodiesel margins continued to rise during the week to Friday November 22. The bean oil/heating oil (BOHO) spread boosted margins by falling to its lowest level since August 27.

Mid-week brought a few modest changes to Dairy Cow and Native Cow hide prices. Northern Dairy Cow prices increased $1 to $19 for packer material. Northern Native Cow hides are steady on packer selections at $14 but increased $1 for processor material. There have been more reports of resistance from European and Chinese customers, mainly due to the worsening COVID-19 situation in Europe causing further lockdowns.

Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) updated their figures for retail auto sales in the US and August reached $102.1 billion, which is above last year’s levels by 5 percent. August 2020 has achieved 14 percent above the prior four-year average for the month. From 2015 to 2019, auto sales have been growing annually at a rate of 13.8 percent. April…
