UCO Prices Surge on Tight Supply, Big Deman

Used cooking oil (UCO) prices surged today across the country with strong demand for early 2021 arrival driving prices higher. Values were reported as high as 42 cents delivered for February into the Gulf market. Both the truck and rail markets are very strong. Supply is reported tight and there is continued risk for material availability basis COVID restrictions and restaurant downtimes. Additionally, winter weather typically brings a slower season in terms of waste oil availability as well as collection difficulties.
