Feathermeal Exports On Par With 2019 Levels

Ruminant meat and bone meal was higher into the East and AL/GA markets today. Shipping issues and tighter production helped to drive the market up this week.

Feathermeal remains well supported at current values with both export and domestic blenders continuing to exhibit strong demand. Feathermeal exports for 2020 were nearly even to 2019 in total volume. Total export tonnage on the year was 90,048 tonnes down 1 percent from the 90,455 tonnes in 2019. December closed the year with 7,691 tonnes exported. The largest buyer by volume was Indoneisa at 3,837 tonnes. Honduras followed at 978 tonnes and Vietnam imported 922.3 tonnes.
