Cow Hides & Branded Steer Prices Drop

Branded Cow and Dairy Cow selections fell $1 on decreased buying interest from upholstery tanners due to full inventories. Branded Steers also fell $1.50 today on packer material. The bids that sellers have received are significantly lower than last trading levels, with some down $5. Buyers are not very active and continue to bid lower which reasonably suggests they’re not pressured to buy in the near term. 


Outstanding Export Sales  —  Through April 22

Tables 1 and 2 below show the total outstanding cured hide and wet blue export sales by selected countries through April 22. Through Week 16, the total outstanding sales are 4.792 million from 4.813 million the prior week.
