Fat Complex Continues to Climb

Ten cars of technical tallow remain offered out at 64 Chicago and untraded. Lard traded higher late yesterday in three rail cars. Outside of the technical and lard markets, trading was very quiet ahead of the long, holiday weekend. 

The packer bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) market held firm this week while other animal fat and co-products traded higher. Renderer BFT did trade up, pushing that average over the Chicago packer market. CWG FOB Mo. River prices were up 2.2 percent from last week on strong demand from the biofuels sector. The strong choice white market has helped to pull up yellow grease prices, although at a slower pace. Mo. River prices for YG are up 0.7 percent from last week.
