Opportunities for Hemp Fiber Products

Hemp fiber applications are seemingly infinite.  The characteristics of the materials ensure its usefulness across a broad cross-section of industry.  As a bulk filler for composites, there are few technical hurdles to grow this segment if producers can overcome technical challenges on farm.  Climate change policies and increased environmental regulation will make material alternatives more appealing, opening the door for hemp if lifecycle assessments demonstrate a lower carbon footprint for any given application.  Policy is not necessary for companies to adopt hemp as an alternative feedstock for materials manufacture.  They have proven to be forward thinking in their sustainability policies, regardless of the President du jour.
