Weather Not Optimal in Key Production Areas

Weather is creating headaches for hemp producers in the Northwest US after a hot and dry start to the season.  Recent weather in key production areas like Jackson County, Oregon have witnessed at least 4 consecutive days over 100F.  High nighttime temps in Medford early this week bottomed at 75F, adding considerable stress to cannabis plants that saw a record 113F on Sunday.

, when the area posted 10 consecutive days over 100F. Domestic water is becoming an issue for residents but irrigation water is handled separately. One of Medford’s domestic water sources is Big Butte Springs. This spring fed source has experienced reduced flows 3 years in a row.
