Increased Chip Production Offers Hope for Increased Hide Demand from Auto Sector

The US hide market was active today with increased trading prices. Premium hides are in high demand driven by shoe leather production. Selections that have had price increases are steers, heifers, cows and processor steers. Sellers reported a many bids and strong interest, but much more resistance from Chinese tanners for additional price increases. Next week, packers are expecting more buyer resistance than this past week.
