Softer Tones and Wider Ranges on Mid-South PFG

Pet food grade poultry by-product meal (PFG PBM) was down $24.50 compared to last week with a few sources reporting increased offerings in the market. However, others noted a steady call past mid-week, leading to wider ranges on the PFG Mid-South market. On the ruminant meat and bone meal (RMBM) market, undertones of weakness were noted with a modest $2.50/ST decline from last week. Participants noted diminished interest on the Indonesian front for RMBM, which has led to modest pressure as well and the possibility of excess items in the domestic market out front. This pushback on exports has contributed to the decline of two percent on the Missouri River market from the start of July. Meanwhile, porcine items remain on the firmer side of steady to modestly firmer with porcine bloodmeal (BM) witnessing a $20.00/ST gain and a 4 percent growth from the start of July.
