Organic Soybean Meal Prices in Texas Surge

 

The organic soybean and organic soybean meal activity are volatile, and finding old-crop organic beans is not easy. Organic soybean prices are high in the south, with organic soybean meal in Texas trading as high as $1,800 per short ton FOB the crusher. Several end-users are offsides because of the Pipeline Foods Bankruptcy. They purchased organic soybeans that they expected to use to crush the meal and have contracts on the other side where they need to deliver the meal. This situation is an unenvious position to be in and very unfortunate.

On the other side of the coin, the farmer might have a free pass to sell their organic soybeans at new prices, especially if they do not have to make good on their older-contracts with Pipeline sell at the market.
