Ethanol Production Slows for Third Straight Week as Stocks Climb to 23-week high
Weekly ethanol production declined, sugarcane ethanol imports accelerated, and ethanol stocks pushed to a 23-week high in this week’s “Weekly Petroleum Status Report”. Ethanol output fell for a third consecutive week, dropping 14 thousand barrels to a 1.014 million-barrel-per-day average during the week ending July 23, 2021. Production reached a nine-week low but was within analyst estimates that ranged between 1.008-and-1.038 million-barrels. Weekly ethanol output was 1.4 percent lower than last week but 5.9 percent over levels seen at this time last year. DDGS output fell 1,332 metric tons per day but was 5,326 MT’s per day over production from a year ago.
