June beef exports suffered a significant drop of 49 thousand TEC in fault of the government’s ban on exports.

Slaughter is low, but pundits expect an increase in the first week of August.

Good quality Buenos Aires wet salted steer prices continue trading the same at about US$0.85~0.90 per kg but with strong upwards pressure.

Semi-finished leather demand remains steady, but it is difficult to transfer costs to sales price. Neither Asia nor Europe are willing to pay higher prices.

Consumption has not yet taken off in the central countries.
