Greases Grind Lower on Shipping Woes

Edible tallow was offered out at 73.5 Chicago today and unsold as of press time. Choice white grease traded in a wider range, at a lower average, out of the Missouri River market today. A number of sellers continue to struggle with heavy, nearby supplies but there is optimism for a renewed flow of material into the Gulf in the near term.

Most fats traded lower, on average, compared to last week. Yellow grease FOB Mo. River had the biggest drop, falling 4.4 percent compared to the week prior. UCO was off 2.8 percent and DCO down 2.5 percent. CWG has started to settle at a bottom, down 0.8 percent from the week prior. BFT traded up, settling at 63 cents Chicago for the week. Reports continue of volume trading at lower prices outside of the Chicago rail corridor.
