Steer trading was active with the main interest coming from buyers out of Korea, Thailand and Mexico. Chinese tanners continued bidding low prices this week, which several sellers rejected due to sales made at steady prices into other markets. Some sellers have sold over a week’s worth of production of cow and dairy steer hides to furniture upholstery and handbag tanners. Auto upholstery tanners have been inactive while there are significantly reduced leather orders from automakers due to the supply chain problems.
