Midweek hide trading was quiet, but buyers are actively bidding for steer and cow material. Sellers reported several bids on steer material at $1 less than last traded levels and cow material is steady with last traded levels. The spreading Omicron variant is creating concern amongst several market players of further government-imposed lockdowns in key tanning regions overseas. The port congestions remains a challenge for sellers while cattlehide supply continues at high slaughter levels.
