There will be no publication of the hide bulletin/price guide on Monday, January 17 as the offices of The Jacobsen will be closed in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr holiday. 

Hide trading was limited today to a few markets. Northern and Southwestern Branded Cows traded $0.25 lower than yesterday’s price range. Heavy weight Colorado Branded Steers traded a $1.50 lower. Trading remains stable for Native and Butt Branded Steers. The major concern is still the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, which is causing production delays and factory shutdowns around the globe. In Italy, fashion brands and leather goods manufacturers have been acutely affected. Sources are also reporting a major shortage in chips for auto manufacturing.
