Fats, Oils and Greases (FOGs) Market Continue Bull Run

Ten cars of packer BFT traded higher on a Chicago basis today, renderer was bid higher into/through the Chicago market but was untraded as of press time.

Animal fats, used cooking oil, distiller’s corn oil and soybean oil all traded sharply higher today as the war in Ukraine continues without a clear end in sight.

The nearby average soybean oil price is up 5.85 percent from last week’s average and trading for the May futures contract settled as high as 76.21 cents per pound before retreating the second half of the week and finishing today at 72.80.

Choice white grease had the biggest week-on-week increase at 9.1 percent followed by SBO and DCO, which is up 4.8 percent from last week.
