Average Price for LCFS Spot Market Trades down over $18 From Week Prior

LCFS credit prices trade below $130 intra-week for the first time since May 9, 2019. Credit volume for the week ending March 13, 2022, of 334,571reached a four-week low, down 39 percent from last week and 25 percent below the prior four-week average of 444,398.   

There were no trades executed above $200, Thirty two percent of the volume was transacted between $170 and $191, 27.5 percent of the volume was traded between $140 and $169, and a 40 percent traded below $140. The low end of the weekly price range is at levels not seen since May of 2019 and continues to trend lower on a weekly basis.

First quarter LCFS credit volume is 22 percent over first quarter 2020 but six percent below fourth quarter volume. There were 22 transactions during the week, down from 54 the week before. The weighted average price for all credits traded decreased…
