Bearish Sentiment Builds in US Hide Market

Sellers in the US hide market were bearish on market direction today, while global shipping concerns and the ongoing war contribute to limited hide buying. Most buyers are not urgently purchasing if they do not need the material. Steer hides traded at steady to slightly lower prices levels, but in limited volume. Worldwide inflation and auto supply chain disruptions are also adding negative sentiment to the hide market. A US packer reported Korean tanners have begun delaying contracts and auto tanners have slowed hide buying due to insufficient auto parts.
