Following the long holiday weekend in the US, sellers put together offer lists today which will be released tonight and tomorrow. Most sellers do not have many steer selections available to offer, as many reported they are sold 6.5 weeks forward on the most popular selections. Sellers do have good volume of cowhides and heifers available.
Cowhide demand continues to be moderate, and buyers continue to resist price increases in most cases. Heifer production is strong along with demand for hides from the footwear industry.
Chinese and Taiwanese tanners will be closed for the Dragon Boat festival this Thursday and Friday so trading this week is expected to be slow.
