Packers Sell Steer Hides at Discounted Price Levels

Packers Sell Steer Hides at Discounted Price Levels

Midweek trading was limited following the 4th of July holiday in the US yesterday. Packers and other sellers have received less interest than last week but bids are steady to last week’s sales or a bit lower. Sellers do not have much to offer after the good volume of sales activity over the past few weeks. Some packers have sold steers at special price levels to their regular buyers. Buyers continue to hold concern over lacking leather demand and poor leather prices. With the macroeconomic outlook remaining bearish due to high inflation and geopolitical tension, hide market players do not foresee significant improvement to hide demand nor prices in the near-term.
