Black Sea Organic Cracked Corn Imports Swell

Black Sea Organic Cracked Corn Imports Swell

Organic cracked corn imports continue to arrive at U.S. ports in June, helping to provide a cap on organic whole corn prices. Approximately 15K metric tons were imported from Turkey, arriving on the Clipper Maritime, the same boat that brought organic soybeans/soybean meal from the Black Sea region.

The organic cracked corn originated in Giresun, Turkey, and was imported into the Morehead City, North Carolina port. Organic broken corn imports were up 50 percent year over year for June. For the nine months ending June 2023, organic de-germinated corn imports were up 21 percent year-over-year. Despite the downward trend in organic cracked corn imports since 2017, the trend seems to be reversing higher.
