Demand Decreases From Chinese Hide Tanners

Market Update

Steer hides were traded steady to last reported levels except for packer, regular-weight butt branded steers (BBS) down $0.50 from yesterday. Sellers indicated a recent slowdown of demand from Chinese tanners and hesitation to pay higher price levels.
After the recent uptick in demand, packers have increased offer prices but are struggling to receive bids. More offers will be released tonight.
