The week wrapped up with heavy native and butt branded steer trading sideways while branded cows traded $1.25 higher per piece than last reported. Interest in cow material is from furniture upholstery tanners from the Hebei province in China. This area was active in the US market all week. Participants reported the greatest demand are those who specialize in Chinese domestic furniture. Tanners claim drop split prices increased this week, which encouraged prices for cowhides to move upward.
