Organic chicken slaughter has declined over the previous calendar year by 10 percent, reflecting a change in the marketplace driven by consumer habits.  The overall trend for the previous year and a half indicates an 11 percent drop.

 Grocery costs have soared over the period, rising well above the peak headline inflation rate of 10.5 percent in July of 2022.  Using data conventions from the chart below, peak grocery inflation surpassed peak headline inflation by 5 percent in the months following the peak headline rate at the beginning of Q3.
