Organic Corn Prices Slide Lower as Midwestern Bins Fill

Organic corn prices continue to experience limited activity ahead of new crops. Merchandisers tell Fastmarkets that activity picked up in late August and early September as end-users looked to cover Q4 exposure and are now waiting before they cover Q1 ahead.  The inventory-as-you-go scenario remains in place as so many end-users saw higher prices as unsustainable. The bid-offer spread continues to widen as end-users continue to wait for prices to fall further. Most growers are looking for higher levels, but a few are selling old crop for low bids, especially in areas in the Midwest where expectations of normal crop production are expected.
