Processor NHNDC 47-53 – $21 per piece *

Hide trading was minimal today, while several sellers noted negotiations with buyers were ongoing. Butt branded steers were reported $0.50 up from yesterday’s levels. Colorado branded steers were down $1 down, and branded steers were down $1.50.

Shoe tanner demand is weak, but those that are in the market are firm on their bids at levels below last week’s prices. Sellers hope to conclude sales over the weekend, ahead of Golden Week in China, Japan and Korea. The week is expected to hold a quiet tone.
