Midweek hide interest was active from the Hebei province in China for cowhides. Bids were from upholstery tanners in the province. Several sellers reported bid levels close to current market pricing and expect buyers will be willing to pay steady levels at the end of week. Buyers continue to bid several dollars lower than current market pricing on steer hides.

Some packers’ offer lists were longer than the week prior and at lower price levels on some steer hides. Mexican auto tanners remain active in the hide market, bidding on heavy native and butt branded steers.
