The US hide market wrapped up the week with trading done at steady price levels with yesterday’s close. Packers sold more Heavy Native, Butt Branded, and Branded Steer hides at yesterday’s market levels due to demand from Chinese automotive tanners.
Some shoe tanners were active and willing to pay steady levels for Branded Hide selections. However, many are looking for alternative markets for their leather as demand has slowed from the shoe leather sector.
