Midweek bidding was active from several origins as the market discussed incoming leather orders for buyers in several industries. Asian tanners were in the market looking for good volume material for steer and cowhides at prices levels $1-$2 down from last traded levels.
Buyers from Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Mexico, and some parts of China were actively bidding today.
Most shoe tanners from China were absent from the market. Expectations are for shoe tanners to enter the market late in the week, stated contacts.
