Trading was quiet today to start the week. Soybean futures moved lower on spreading dynamics tied to a jump in the soybean oil market.
Hog slaughter finished last week at an estimated 2.652 million head, up 22.0 percent from the prior week. Holiday downtime and severe weather limited the hog harvest to an average of 2.298 million head for the weeks ending Dec 23 through January 13th.
