Lexi Watts out of Office February 21-22

Lexi Watts will be out of the office Wednesday, February 21 and Thursday, February 22. She will return on Friday, February 23. In her absence, please contact Ryan Capozziello at 203-892-7209 or [email protected] with any questions or trades to report.

Following the holiday weekend, steer hides traded lower, for the most part, with a few exceptions. Regular-weight Heavy Native Steers (HNS) hides and Colorado Branded Steers (CBS) traded $1/piece and $0.25/piece below Friday’s close. The decreases were driven by limited demand from automotive and footwear tanners.
There have been more reports of increasing demand from footwear tanners, but the quantities are minimal. A tanner reported that demand increased slightly for shoe leather for low-end, athleisure shoes because of low hide prices, but hide demand for mid-range shoes remains dismal.
