Soybean Crush Margins Plunge to 9-Month Low

CME grain prices were mixed on Friday. May wheat declined $0.185, closing at $5.57/bu, and May soybeans increased by $0.105, settling at $11.51/bu. In addition, May soymeal rose by $3.10 to $332.30/st. while May corn dropped by $0.0475 to $4.24/bu. Soybean prices showed double-digit gains after a round of bargain buying due to an expected record-breaking harvest taking place in Brazil, coupled with large global supplies. Sluggish U.S. exports led to a significant decrease in wheat prices, while corn prices faced losses mainly caused by spillover weakness from the wheat market.
