Rising Incomes and Spending Bolster Organic Demand

The U.S. economic recovery continues largely unabated.  The latest figures from the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) show an economy that continues to expand on top of growing personal income and moderating inflation.  Inflation rose modestly for PCE in January – a measure of volatile food and energy prices – but the Fed has indicated the potential for twists and turns on the road to a 2 percent inflation target.

This economic progress should result in steady, sustained growth in organic animal protein segments.  Nonetheless, action – or inaction – by the Fed to cool the burgeoning growth could prompt consumers to rein in their spending.
