Ethanol Production and Stocks Drop Below Weekly Levels

Wheat midd prices in the Minneapolis market were slightly higher on Wednesday, while prices in the Kansas City and Buffalo markets remained steady. Market participants said values were mixed and mills in the Dakotas are currently running very well, keeping a lid on the market.

Most CME grain prices were lower on Wednesday. The only grain that increased was May soybeans, which rose $0.0075 and closed at $11.96/bu. May wheat decreased $0.0325 and settled at $5.44/bu. Additionally, May soymeal dropped $2.80 and closed at $336.40/st, and May corn fell $0.005 to $4.41/bu. Corn prices declined after a wave of technical selling while wheat prices faced losses due to sluggish domestic demand and large global stocks. However, soybean prices remained mostly steady in today’s session, showing only minor gains.
