Soybean oil feedstock percentage of production falls to record low

EIA Biofuels Capacity and Feedstock Update

The Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Monthly Biofuels Capacity and Feedstocks Update for January showed operable US Biofuel capacity hovering near November’s all-time high. Total capacity of 23.76 billion gallons was nine million gallons above December and 1.55 billion over January 2023 capacity of 22.31 billion gallons. The Petroleum Supply Monthly report disclosed refinery and blender net inputs of renewable fuel to be 27.1 million barrels, 1.266 million barrels below December input, and 506 thousand barrels under January 2023. US inputs of renewable fuel were 58% of capacity.
