Organic feed commodity prices remain stable

Prices for organic feed ingredients have remained steady with no major movements in key commodities. Prices for organic soybeans could be buoyed by underlying supply and demand fundamentals if domestic production dips and shortfalls cannot made up with imports. We hear some reports of reduced soybean planting this year, but it is still very early.

There is no reason to believe there is any shortage of organic soybeans in Africa, but logistics challenges related to closure of the Port of Baltimore are an unknown at this point. A temporary channel opened yesterday that is meant to accommodate tugs and barges but not container ships.
