Hide demand continued into Thursday June 6, but buyers held firm on lower-to-flat prices compared with the current market levels, according to several sellers. Several steer and cow hides were traded on Thursday. Some sellers reported ongoing negotiations on cow hide prices and expect the business to be carried into the following day or weekend.

Most steer hides traded sideways to the prior day’s trading, but regular weight branded steer (BRS), Colorado branded steer (CBS) and branded heifer (HBH) hides traded up by $1.00 per piece, $1.00 per piece and $1.50 per piece respectively. The BRS, CBS and HBH hides traded sideways to the last sale by the sellers who reported them. Regular weight butt branded steer hides traded $0.50 per piece down from the day prior.
