Hemp-derived THCa demand soars

Demand for THCa hemp products is growing at an incredibly fast pace according to our informal survey of retailers. More and more consumers are discovering THCa products and have shown a preference for them over isomers like delta-8-THC. Sales volume has doubled for some retailers in the last year, limited in many cases by supply.

In markets like New York City, legal and illicit marijuana have absorbed demand for hemp products. Just 100 miles south, in Philadelphia where there is no recreational marijuana market, hemp dispensaries cannot keep THCa vape carts in stock.

In New York City, where there are purportedly over 2,000 illicit cannabis shops still operating, customers find competitive deals that naturally limit demand for hemp-derived cannabinoids like THCa. There is no certainty as to what type of cannabis is sold in these shops, but if it has acceptable flavor and potency at a competitive price point, consumers will buy it consistently.
